I'm New
Visiting a church for the first time can be a bit intimidating. Here are a few things that we hope will make your first, second, and every visit a little more comfortable.
Come As You Are
We are a welcoming church and invite you to come as you are. There is always a place for you here at Deerfield Presbyterian Church. No matter your age, faith background, or life stage -- we have a welcoming community that wants to get to know you.
Sunday services begin at 11:00am and are about 60 to 70 minutes long. We value all ages in the worship service; after all, we are forming the next generation of worshippers! Our address is 530 Old Deerfield Pike, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
Worship
As Presbyterians, we put a high emphasis on the Bible as God’s Word and the means by which God speaks to us as His people. Each week, we preach from the Bible and incorporate the reading of the Scriptures from the Old and New Testament through readings and liturgy. We incorporate prayer throughout each service, celebrate the Lord’s Supper and Baptism as Sacraments instituted by Christ. Musically, we sing together using the Trinity Psalter Hymnal, led by organ, piano, and a choir.
Children
At Deerfield Presbyterian Church, we believe that the church gathered for worship includes our youngest to oldest saints. We want our children to know that Jesus calls the little children to himself, and as a church we take seriously our responsibility to raise up worshippers of Jesus Christ. For this reason, we encourage children to worship with their family during our worship service and invite the children through the 4th grade to come to the front of the sanctuary during our children’s message, specifically geared towards teaching the children (and the rest of the church) about the essentials of our Faith. After the children’s message, the kids are welcome to pick up a provided clipboard with activities and coloring materials.
Infants and Toddlers
Infants and toddlers are also welcome in our nursery where our attendants will help them settle in. Please note that the nursery is in the Christian Education Building across the street from our sanctuary. Parents are encouraged to leave a cell phone number with the attendants so they can be contacted if needed.
Coffee Hour
Stay after worship and get to know us. In the warmer months we enjoy refreshments outside. In the colder months we meet across the street in the Christian Education Building. Come join us, enjoy a refreshment, and connect.
Sunday School
In addition to morning worship, we also offer Sunday School for adults and look forward to adding Sunday School for children and teens in the near future. Sunday School begins at 10:00am in the Christian Education building and runs for 45 minutes.
Parking
Parking is available in our parking lot across the street from the church. Street parking is also available.
